Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery where people are exploited for labour, or
sexual purposes, or forced into other forms of servitude against their will. It is a global issue
affecting millions of people, including men, women, and children of all ages and ethnicities.
According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), an estimated 25 million people
worldwide are victims of human trafficking, generating billions of dollars in illegal profits for
traffickers each year.
